Cocktail Party for Two

cocktail party at home

I love hosting friends for casual and celebratory drinks, meals and get togethers at my home.  But sometimes, it’s just me and my husband, and that is certainly something worth celebrating!  This week, a cocktail party for two was definitely in order.

Cocktail parties don’t have to be [and shouldn’t be!] stuffy to be fun — especially when it’s just two people.  Start by choosing one or two favorite wines, and pairing them with a handful of delicious and simple food offerings.

I’ve always been a fan of Riedel wine glasses — they are gorgeously crafted, made specifically for each grape varietal.   Serious customization.  Plus, they make it easy for you to show off your wine skills by selecting the perfect glass for the perfect glass!  They also make great gifts for those who love to entertain or enjoy good wine.

On this particular early evening, I served my husband the most delicious South African Viognier from Noble Hill Wine in Riedel’s classic Viognier wine glasses.  This wine is deliciously fragrant and one of my all time favorites from Noble Hill.

But what’s a cocktail party without food?  I made a cheese plate with our favorite Aged Cheddar KerryGold cheese, dried cherries, fresh grapes, warm savory roasted almonds and extra dark pretzels.  Sweet, savory, crunchy, creamy!

What about you?  Any favorite wines or foods you serve most often?  I’d love to hear from you!
