Domesticate Yourself: Kitchen Gadgets I Love
Today we’re bringing you something new and exciting on The Domesticated Wolf — a new series called Domesticate Yourself. Domesticate Yourself features many of my favorite products for the home.
Because we are first and foremost a food blog, what better way to Domesticate Yourself than with kitchen gadgets that help me do what I do. So without further ado…I bring you — Kitchen Gadgets I Love.
one — the aerolatte
This handheld frother whips the most luscious frothed milk for a cappuccino or latte. Sometimes I’ll use it to make a quick vinaigrette instead of a whisk. It also doubles as a perfect hostess gift. Can’t. Live. Without. It.
two — the spiralizer
This vegetable-noodle-maker comes with three blades which makes replacing calorie-laden pasta with low calorie vegetable noodles easy as can be. Lower calorie, higher fiber, and more vitamins and minerals…this nutritionist definitely approves. Plus it’s surprisingly user friendly.
three — kyocera ceramic knives
Have you ever heard that sharp knives are much less likely to cut you than dull knives? Well it’s true, and these ceramic knives are s h a r p. They are fabulous, and come in a number of colors.
four —the vitamix
What is there to say about the world’s best blender? Soups, smoothies, nut butters, pestos, the list goes on and on. Seriously it’s worth its weight in gold [which for the record is a lot…because it’s heavy.]
five — simple white ramekins
I’m a ramekin addict. From baking portion controlled desserts to getting organized before cooking a dish with a lot of ingredients, I’d be lost without these little bowls. And they don’t take up much room in the cupboards, which is key in a New York City apartment kitchen.
I’d love to hear from you — what are you favorite kitchen gadgets? Have you ever used any of my five favs? Let me know!
ps: stay tuned for more Domesticate Yourself.
