How To Make Avocado Toast

Who here is an avocado toast fan? Everyone? Figured! Avocado toast is all the rage — healthy, delicious, gorgeous and so versatile. Doesn’t get much better than that. But who’s to say it has to be relegated to a restaurant- only dish? It’s so easy to make and fast: perfect for an early morning. Keep reading for my tips on how to make avocado toast at home.
Ingredients for 4 servings:
4 slices whole grain bread, toasted
4 tsp olive oil
4 garlic glove, peeled
1 avocado
1 lemon, juiced
Pinch kosher salt
1 tsp sesame seeds
1 tsp chia seeds
1 tsp red pepper flakes
Directions:
- Brush toasted bread with olive oil
- Rub raw garlic glove gently over the toast
- Quarter avocado and mash evenly on each toast slice, top with lemon juice
- Sprinkle with kosher salt, seeds and red pepper flakes
- Serve immediately, alone or with a poached egg




Avocado toast makes an excellent cocktail party or brunch appetizer. Be sure to generously season with lemon juice to prevent any browning (which is completely safe to eat, just visually unappealing), and prepare just before you’re ready to serve. Healthy and delicious - my favorite kind of food!
